The Objective
Wondership Capital approaches asset management and investment in a new way — seeking non-extractive capital, looking at projects holistically while building a team of collaborative experts. They’re interested in how regenerative technology can be utilized to retrofit existing buildings to make them sustainable and in working with the local communities where these assets are located. They needed branding that matched their non-traditional approach without feeling too-far removed from the traditional corporate minimalism of the financial sector.
The Solution
The final direction was art deco inspired, and balanced organic curves with more industrial sharp angles.
Since this is a fledgling company not seeking to reach new investors via search, the co-founders were primarily seeking a website in order to establish brand authority. Due to the proprietary and sensitive information they handle, they knew they wanted a website with minimal information.
We kept the website size as small as possible and ensure that we hosted the website using renewable energy or carbon offsets to keep in line with the company mission.
Design Direction
The original guiding words were clear, kind, and whimsical. The focus on sustainability meant that organic and ecological were also important. An early brand concept made the team realize that whimsical was perhaps the wrong word.
The final brand design continues the juxtaposition of sharp geometric shapes and more fluid organic shapes to maintain a sense of harmony and balance. The color palette is pulled from nature, with a variety of greens making up the majority of the palette. Curated stock photography features the beauty and wonder of nature, specifically the geometric patterns and fractals that occur within nature.

Additional Brand Assets
I designed a firm deck that also serves as a template for decks moving forward, including custom illustrations and infographics. The one-page website provides the bare minimum of information, copy-wise, so we had to establish trustworthiness and clarify the mission to entice potential investors to reach out for more information.
